Came for Skills but got More
An interview with Natasha an ex-trainee who loves reading
1. What first brought you through the doors? What were you looking for at that point in your life?
I first came to Bold through the National Youth CouncilYouth Tech Programme 💜 I started out as a digital designer and marketer, and honestly, I thought I was just there to learn social media marketing skills. I didn’t really know what to expect when Ifirst joined 😅
2. What happened when you were here? Share one specific moment, conversation, or experience that stayed with you.
One moment that really stayed with me was when I got the opportunity to shift from being a digital designer to a project coordinator. I was honestly surprised by how much joy I found in coordinating projects and working closely with people because I always thought social media was “my thing” for sure😂
3. What did you take with you after leaving?
I left with so much more than just work experience. Bold helped me learn more about myself — what I value in my work, the kind of intention I want to bring into my everyday life, and how I want to give back to the community 🌱
4. Where are you now, and how is that connected (if at all)?
Right now, I’m working as an Admin Executive handling universities 🎓 At first glance, it may seem very different from what I did at Bold, but honestly everything I learned and experienced there shaped who I am in the workplace today. I still get opportunities to support events, meet people, and show little bits of the skills I picked up there too ✨ Bold really taught me the joy of meeting people and the importance of building genuine relationships and networks 🤝
5. If the space did not exist, what would have been different?
Without BOLD@319, I think it would’ve taken me much longer to figure out what I truly wanted in both my career and personal growth. Iwould’ve missed out on so many experiences, conversations, and connections that really shaped my perspective 💜
